The shading is done beautifully, the off-side lighting in particular. I may just have to pinch that idea to give definition to heavily shaded shapes in the future >.>
I don't think his trousers work though. Having a separate sleeve for his tail just looks... odd. Maybe if his shirt had sleeves, but I think it throws it off a bit that he has a sleeve for his butt, but not his arms.

+) The background is really stunning, I like the "burning dark clouds" effect here. ^^ The fortress in the background reminds me of "Sauron's keep", hehehehe... huge, dark, evil and just scary! ^^
+) Lighting and shading adds a great atmosphere and you've used all the colours in a "painted" way. It really looks like a painting to me, and it's just so warm... AND cold at the same time.
+) Best part: REPTILE!!
I love how you've designed a "warmer full body covering cloth"! ^____^ Yeah, pants with third hole for the tail, hehehehe. Also, his boots are excellent (even if his claws must be cut or shortened for this, buuuuut nevermind
