Okay, not that this picture would be finished, but I dont have the mood to play with it anymore, so I'll just put it up here and see what happens.

A wannabe-response to :userreptilecynrik:'s [link] in terms of lighting and stuff. Well, maybe I got already to 1/4 performance as it should have been. But thats my fault since I used only one lightsource o.O

Other than that, the story in this picture is (again) from the last Esertosian-Human war in 2206 from the fights in Yok.
In the window you can see the VTP Rozsutec-T tank, whilst the soldier in the foreground wields a PZ-5 UG machine gun.

Finally, watch the sun and atmoshpere. I dare to say its the best I made so far :P

Edit: Done with only a mouse (and a crappy ref. sketch) in photoshop.

that looks interesting! It sorta looks more reallistic due to the lack of lineart in it, which is great! On a more matterialistic critique, judging by the rifle muzzle, I don't think a straight bipod would withstand the kickback on a .50 BMG :)

Yea, thanks.

Well, its not a .50 bmg. Thats the reason.

Well, I was just saying... That's the high dispersion muzzle characteristic to the .50 :)

Like I said... PHOTOSHOP is your tool of trade!!!! :D  Very nicely done and I love that gloomy, dark, cold, lost atmosphere!! The picture is very dark, but there is one proplem (not about the picture, though): I cannot really suggest to look at it here on DA!!! The outline of this website is too bright. I suggest, people should save the picture and watch it in FULL VIEW SCREEN MODE! :D And then.... wooooooow! :) Very nice. Even the second soldier in the background is visible then.
Overall, a very nice mood, great setting and realistic choice of colours. I did not really WANTED you to "pick up the gauntlet", but you did!! And you made the best of it. ^..^ A worthy and great counterpart. And your picture tells a very intense story. That is your "artistical future", I think.... at least, it is a wonderful piece.

I can only see on soldier. o o
*pokes him in the head*
Is there meant to be more than one (implied by the plural) or is there only one?

Personally I think the lighting suits this picture, afterall the sniper IS hiding so the picture would look contradicting to the scenario if it was brighter. I'm just wondering where the spotter is*. Teivos probably knows what I mean. Anyhoo, awsome picture! DON'T CHANGE IT!!! It suits it's purpose as-is.

(*For all those who don't know, snpers usually go in pairs, one guy spots and the other guy shoots)

For in your time will it illuminate your path
No matter how dark the night and bleak the times
On the morrow will it shine once more
On those who seek its radiating light

Reminds me of BattleField 1942, when I'd hide inside the houses and sniper people down from the third story windows. Oh how people hate it when you do that. :giggle:

A very solemn picture, this one. The lighting is good, but seems as though it could use a little more... uhm... what's the word... I dunno. Could be a little more brighter, more obvious. If that's what I mean. I think I mean it.

Still love it, though. As usual, fantastic work on positions and body structure.
