BH Udava flying

Bojová Helikoptéra (Battle Helicopter) Udava is the oldest war machine in the service of SSR. Designed some 60 years ago, its still a valuable vehicle thanks to many modernisations. The machine is more of a VTOL airplane than a helicopter. It’s purpose is to support land armies from the air and making assaults to enemy territory. It may be used as a fighter , but it isn’t recommended. The speed isn’t any good cause BH Udava’s designed for other issues than being fast. Two archaic high-speed turbines in the wings provide vertical thrust for vertical take off and landing. BH Udava can, thanks to them, also stand in the air like a classic helicopter what brings some tactical advantages. During the flight they are covered for better aerodynamics of the wings. In addition, BH Udava has one fusion engine heading back like in normal airplanes. Its armour is impressive – that’s a must for a support helicopter anyway. The helicopter is armed with two turrets, each carries one DPK-30 and one RPK-30. Another weaponry counts four PR-200 rockets as AA defense and eight TRV-150 AV launchers as additional AT weaponry. Finally Udava has two 57mm missile launchers.
